The new Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji has officially taken charge of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Mr Haji reported to work on Tuesday and was handed over the office by the former DPP, Keriako Tobiko, who is now Environment Cabinet Secretary (CS).

While handing over the office, Tobiko said that he left behind a fully operational office which he helped establish and competent staff.

The former DPP promised to be available for consultations if need be, adding that he will work closely with the new DPP on matters environment.

Mr Haji on his part promised to be fair to all and ensure timely prosecution and justice to all Kenyans.

Haji later visited various offices meeting and interacting with staff and assuring them of his support.

Mr Haji joins the ODPP with a wealth of experience in investigations, security analysis and has been an advocate of the High Court for 19 years. He is from the National Intelligence Service (NIS) where he has been serving as Deputy Director.

The handing over was witnessed by Secretary Public Prosecutions Mrs Dorcas Oduor, Deputy Directors of Public Prosecutions Jacob Ondari, Nicholas Mutuku and Deputy Director, Central Facilitation Services Kennedy Kimuyu.
