The hearing of a forgery case against Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi has been scheduled for 19th June, 2017.
A Nairobi anti-corruption Magistrate court on Thursday ordered the MP to appear in court on 19th June 2017.
The court also ordered the prosecution to supply defense lawyers with witnesses’ statements.
The court will also rule on whether Sudi’s Sh600, 000 bond should be cancelled after he skipped court session on 19th April, 2017.
The prosecution led by Senior State Counsel Joseph Riungu had filed an application seeking the court to cancel Sudi’s bond arguing that the MP was taking court sessions for granted.
The MP’s defense lawyers however defended Sudi saying the MP could not have attended the 19th April court session since he was involved in party nominations.
The Kapsret MP is charged with forging his academic papers and pressing a false declaration to IEBC officials during the 2013 General Election.
