The ODPP visited Langa’ta Women’s Prison to evaluate cases of 257 remandees in a national case review exercise aimed at decongesting the prisons.
The team led by Secretary Public Prosecutions (SPP), Mrs Dorcas Oduor pitched camp at the Langa’ta Women’s Prison on 8, February, 2018 managing to review all the 257 cases.
The SPP said that the ODPP is committed to roll out the case review exercise across the country in the next 100 days.
Oduor said the review is aimed at determining the status of each of those cases and to establish what intervention the ODPP can make to fast-track them.
